Tom Lee Park

As all Memphians have seen during Memphis in May, this expansive green lawn is perfect for activities in need of ample room. But throughout the year, these green acres are not empty. The park is perfect for countless activities and has a nice restroom facility, water fountains and plenty of convenient parking as well as newly installed outdoor fitness stations including two sand volleyball courts and a lined soccer field. Tom Lee Park stretches alongside Riverside Drive from Beale Street to South Bluff.

Tom Lee Park has a commemorative statue to its namesake who, in 1925, despite his inability to swim, saved 32 people from drowning in the Mississippi River from a capsized and burning steamer.

RiverFit is where to go to get your heart racing on the river. Six fitness and exercise stations, two sand volleyball courts, and a soccer field leave little to be desired when it comes to getting toned or just having a good time with family. Also known as The Memphis Grizzlies Riverfront Fitness Trail, RiverFit represents a partnership between hometown heroes, the Memphis Grizzlies, Blue Cross Blue Shield, The City of Memphis, and the Riverfront Development Corporation.
