River Boats

Rollin’ on the River

Surely there is no better way to experience the Mississippi River than by riverboat. It was from the balconies of these grand vessels that a young Mark Twain set about documenting the lives and landscapes that would come to define a nascent America to the rest of the world. For more than two hundred years the lower Mississippi has served as a place of recreation, refreshment, and leisure for visitors from around the world and now, the largest steamboat ever built, The American Queen, calls Memphis her home.

Five boats make more than 35 trips a year, delivering thousands of passengers to Beale Street Landing. From here they disembark and stay at Memphis’ hotels and entertain themselves at Memphis’ most interesting hotspots. Whether it’s a quick, 90- minute tour or a six-night vacation, your journey begins on the Memphis Riverfront.
