Feel free to join us three times per day 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm for a Riverwalk Tour!
Mud Island River Park’s Riverwalk is an exact scale model of the 954 miles of the Lower Mississippi River flowing from its confluence with the Ohio River at Cairo, Illinois all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. The model is built from a whopping 1, 746, 4’ x 8’ concrete sections that come together to create a 2,000 foot long exhibit. The water in the Riverwalk flows past twenty cities mapped alongside it. There are also four watershed walls which map the entire drainage area of the Mississippi River. The entire exhibit empties into an acre size Gulf of Mexico.
This is an informal walking tour to learn some of the history, geography and fascinating facts about the Mississippi River.
